Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
We have created three collaborative Google Classrooms so far. They are called:
- Inquirers’ Classroom (23 students aged 9-10 years)
- Explorers’ Classroom (22 students aged 11-12 years)
- Discoverers’ Classroom (27 students aged 13-14 years)
All three classrooms comprise students from the partner schools who were selected by the project teams and enrolled in Google Classrooms.
Different subjects are addressed by the co-teachers following a common topic ”OUR PLANET EARTH” and a common syllabus.
The classrooms function as virtual collaborative spaces. English is the language of communication between learners and teachers within the virtual classrooms. Each partner school has assigned one co-teacher for each Google Classroom who is responsible for preparing the lessons and learning activities.
